Terms of Instruction
These terms summarise the basis on which we accept instructions. They are supplemented by a formal letter of engagement issued for each matter.
Independence & duty to the decision-maker
Every report is prepared with the expert’s overriding duty to the court or tribunal. That duty prevails over any obligation to the instructing party.
Scope & objectivity
Our reports address objective country conditions and risk. We do not assess or opine on the credibility of a claimant’s account, which is a matter reserved to the decision-maker. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue an instruction that would compromise our independence or fall outside our genuine expertise.
Fees & funding
Fees are confirmed in writing before work begins. We accept both privately funded and legal aid matters; for legal aid instructions we will provide clear costings where required.
Anonymity & confidentiality
No claimant-identifying information is published on this website, and case references used publicly are illustrative placeholders (for example, Claimant AA (Iraq)). All case material is handled confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Notice.
